AnswerWhat you have described to me are serious injuries. This lets you know that you have a vulnerability greater than most people at this point. In no way would it be wise to continue at your job in lifting heavy objects. Is this something that you originally injured at work?
Discs can heal up in 1 1/2 to 2 years with proper corrective care. This includes realignment from Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic Care. This would certainly be the job of a Chiropractor if you would like it to heal properly and completely in that time.
I have personally helped many patients that have had disc problems and even were recommended for a spinal surgery. So far, I am very proud to say that not one of my patients that was able to follow my recommendations has had to have spinal surgery of any kind.
Your first step to healing is to allow adequate rest from physical activity in or around the areas in question. Next you would have to find a competent Upper Cervical Specific Doctor of Chiropractic. If you would like assistance in locating a good doctor you can send me your location and I will do the best I can for you.
Please keep in mind that most states have maybe 2-4 Specialists and so you may need to travel an hour or two to get to one.
For example, I practice in Creve Coeur, Missouri which is just a few miles west of St Louis City. There are 2 other specialists in the entire state with the same advanced certification and training that I have and so I see many patients from other towns, the other side of the state, and other states. Even have patients come in for care from other countries.
Once you understand what it is all about, it makes so much sense, and even better it delivers the results that you are looking for and at a more affordable rate than a dangerous spinal surgery.
Yours in Best Health,
