Chiropractors/depression of space in neck area

Question
Am 80 year old Caucasian female and have on both sides of my neck near my shoulder a space that seems to be deepening. Do you know what might be causing this and what can be done?
Thanks

Answer
Amy,

Without having the benefit of being able to perform a physical examination, I cannot provide you with a diagnosis over the Internet.

Given your age, I would be concerned about the possibility of osteoporosis causing spinal deterioration. I recommend with that you consult with your primary care physician for an appropriate evaluation of your condition.

I hope that this helps to answer your question.
