Question
My back has been slightly hurting for a month now and the pain has been elevating, every time I breathe in, my back cracks right in the middle of my spine,I went to get an x-ray and it showed I have a back curve of 5degrees I think and that my right shoulder was higher than my left, now I'm having trouble sleeping because my back is in so much pain,I don't know what to do

Answer
Matt,

Thanks for your question.

I can't provide you with a diagnosis over the Internet; however, in general terms, it sounds as though you may have a displaced rib, which typically causes sharp pain when breathing in. Similar pain may also be caused by a myofascial trigger point in the rib musculature. A thorough examination by a musculoskeletal-based chiropractor should be sufficient to pin-point the cause of your symptoms. A scoliotic curvature of less than 25 degrees does not require treatment and is likely unrelated to your symptoms.

I hope that this helps to answer your question.
