Question
I have a large swollen bump on my elbow the medical doctors says it "bursa", can it be helped with chiropractic medicines, or do I need to have surgery?

Answer
Hi Shirley,

A bursa is filled with fluid caused by some friction at the area in your elbow.  Most likely surgery is not called for unless there is some underlying cause that irritate the bursa to be formed.  Chiropractic can help to alleviate the pain and reduce the bursa or swelling.  You may expect to have ultrasound therapy, massage to the area and chiropractic adjustment as part of the management.
