Question
Hello

My husband underwent a cervical spine fusion approx 1 year ago. Over the last month he has developed severe pain in his shoulder and numbness to his fingers. A week ago he had a radiofrequency Rhizotomy which has had no effect as yet - the neurologist has now suggested an extended hospital stay in order for them to ascertain the cause of the problem - would a chiropractor be of any help?

Answer
Hello Venessa,

A chiropractic exam may help determine the cause of the pain and numbness, sometimes the problem may exist in the shoulder itself.  If the MRI of the cervical spine is normal, then the numbness or reffered pain may be nueromuscular.

Hope all goes well,
