Question I have a herniated disc C3-4 and have had this for 8 years with no apparent cause. I have done just about everything from medication, injections, physical therapy, chiropractic care and massage. Nothing has really fixed the problem. The disc is not the main problem because it is not pinching a nerve. My main problem is muscle tension and weaknesses. I am wondering what would be the best opton- chiropractic, massage, physical therapy- I do not want surgery, more meds or nay type of injection. Thanks
Answer Hello Kasey,
Find a doctor of chiropractic who specializes in soft tissue injuries. They will be able to locate the scar tissue or adhesions that restrict the joint and break them up. Adjustments are still beneficial to keep the joint moving properly, stiff imobile joints are more prone to early arthitis. You may also want to start a specific exercise program that just focuses on the neck. Physicians Neck and Back is a facility that does this, you may be able to find them online or a similar facility in your city. After a couple months you may find great improvement!
