Chiropractors/Loud Popping of back and neck

Question
Dr. O'Brien-

Is it dangerous for your neck or back if you pop them often, if you get a string of pops, and if the popping is quite loud?  Can this be excessive rubbing on joints?  Thank You for any advice that you can provide.

Jon

Answer
Hello Jon,

Yes, popping your neck will cause the ligaments to become loose/stretched out!  When this happens, the joints can be injured with less force than normal.  If you are not being adjusted by a doctor of chiropratic the popping of the joints may be in the wrong direction causing premature wearing of the joints.

Hope the info. helps,
