Chiropractors/Muscle Strain

Question
My doctor diagnosed me with muscle strain in my left calf. This was due to the fact that I had bursitis of my right hip and put too much pressure on my left leg.   This happened almost three months ago and I still have a great deal of pain.  Can a Chiropractor help this condition?

Answer
Hello Mary,

Yes, Chiropractic can help.  You may want to find a doctor of chiropractic who specializes in soft tissue injuries.  They will be more detailed with muscle work and the biomechanics of the joints and musculature.  Often tight muscles will disrupt the joint motion causing bursitis and friction between the muscles, this can lead to myofascial adhesions (scar tissue between the muscles).  With 5-6 treatments you should have significant improvement!
