Chiropractors/Back Pain

Question
For awhile now, I've been experiencing back pain in the middle of my back right behind my rib cage. I figured it was because I danced, but I haven't danced in several months and there is no difference between what the pain was then and what it is now. Sometimes if I take a deep breath in I would feel more pressure. Could there be anything possibly wrong?

Answer
 Hello Jessica,

Often a rib head can move out of place.  The ribs insert into the vertebrea (costovertebreal junction) and makes a joint capsule.  Severe pain can be caused by irritation or subluxating (move out of placement) this joint.  Breathing moves the rib cage and will irritate or cause pain in the joint right next to the spine.  A doctor of chiropractic can adjust the joint moving it back into place which often decreases the pain immediately!  Also a proper exam will determine the exact cause of the pain.

Have a great day,
