Question
How safe is it for a pregnant woman to seek chiropractic treatment for pain that radiates from lower back down the leg. How many treatments would she be able to get if any, and is spinal manipulation safe?

Answer
Alice,

Chiropractors have been helping pregnant women all along. It is safe to you and your baby.  For some women, sciatica is pregnancy-related, and it goes away on its own or resolves after delivery.   For others, the various manual methods performed by a chiropractor, including pelvic joint manipulation and soft tissue techniques, can help provide alleviation.   Some chiropractic tables have a belly-piece that drops away so pregnant woman can lay face down comfortably (you can see this on my web site).
