Question
I was wondering if chiropractic can help with TMJ because I have it so bad that I have to put my hand under my chin to eat and even talk.

Answer
Hello Julie,

Chiropractic may help with your TMJ disfunction.  You may want to call the doctor of chiropractic's office and see if they perform myofascial (muscle) work surrounding the TMJ and the musculature inside the mouth (which may be the most important aspect with your condition).  It is also important to have a thorough exam to determine the cause of the dysfunction.  Acupuncture may produce excellant results for decreasing the pain too.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brendon O'Brien D.C.
