Question
What is the Houtant/Underbrg?  Not sure if the last word is completely spelled out.  I found the Houtan't Test.  I can't find the second word anywhere.

Allright Jeri,

Underberg's test is very similar to the Hautant's test with the exception that Underberg's test is performed standing up while Hautant's test is performed sitting down.  The patient will also be asked to march in place while performing the Underberg's test to increase the blood flow through the vertebral arteries in the posterior neck.

The test is used to evaluate the patency (openness) of the vertebral arteries, basilar arteries, and/or carotid arteries....all major blood supply to the brain.  Dizziness, fainting, vertigo, falling, blurred vision, and nystagmus (fast eye twitching) are all considered positive indicators of reduced/blocked blood flow.

If the test is positive the chiropractor will most likely order further diagnostic testing before adjusting the patient.  These tests can be used interchangeably.
