Chiropractors/Treatment for a year ?

Question
Since a few weeks I'm having troubles with my upper back including neck. I tried different methods (e.g. treatment with heat, stretching) it help but it was only a temporally relieve. I decided to see a Chiropratictor. My first two visits were informative but also overwhelming. He presented a treatment plan for one year that includes 3 visits a week for the first 12 weeks, two visits a weeks for the next 16 weeks, 1 visit a week for another 16 weeks and 1 visit every two weeks for the rest of the year. He also included a home unit, three x-ray appointments,  and exercising lessons. It would cost me $4000 all together and I would have to pay in advance. I think I understand the concept but because I'm new to this kind of approach I don't feel comfortable. I would need a second opinion before I pay for a service I'm not sure I need or want. Thank you for your time and I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Answer
Hello Jean-Claude,

Yes, you are right.  I would not pay $4000 up-front.  Everyone responds to treatment differently, healing time, etc.  You may not need a year of treatment, but I do recommend to my patients that 1x per month is a great schedule to be on.  Once you are out of pain monthly visits are a great way to keep your body-joints etc, fluid and moving.  Often something happens within a month that aggravates the muscles or joints.

So, pay as you go!
