Question
I have been diagnosised with these and I don't know what they are, my chiropratic doctor sent this to a neurolgist and I don't know what they mean and he will be gone for the next 2 weeks.  I have tried to look them up but can't find anything out.

Cerivobrachial "Syndrome" is a condition that really deserves more clarity.  It is believed to be a conditon of that involves, in theory, the neck and the nerves that exit the neck that form a plexus and then go down the arm. The "Syndrome" is that of a constellation of neck pain along with numbness/tingling or other symptoms into the upper extremity.  It is often a "wastebasket" diagnosis, provided when there is no clear sign of a neck disc herniation or other irritatant to the cervical nerves.  It is also a diagnosis based on history, such as when there is whiplash or shoulder girdle trauma and there may be suspected irriation to the neck and plexus tissues.  Myositis literally means "muscle inflammation." There is a neuologic conditon called inflammatory myositis.  Odds are your chiropractor did not mean the latter, and, unless there truly is inflammation, you likely don't have myositis. This needs clarity on your DC's part. Myofibrosis is tossed around often, and can simply mean the taught, tender fibers found commonly in sore muscles, or it can mean the fibrotic nodules found with certain neurologic diseases.   You need to ask that your diagnosis be made more clear.   A neurologist can diagnosis these conditions and rule out the truly neurologic disorders such as inflammatory myositis, or other neuro' conditions including polymyalgia rheumatica.   Good luck.
