Question hello,
i just had an mri and it revealed that L5-S1 had degenerative disc disease. it also mentions disc desiccation, spinal stenosis. it also mentions a large central disc and a small paracentral disc is protruding. what would my options be in this situation. my doctor prescribe me anti inflammatory pills and muscle relaxers, which none of them help. the pain goes down the right side of my leg to my toes at times and never goes away. i am always in pain, limiting me as to what i can do in a day. would surgery be an option for me? this has me worried and still in pain
Answer Hello Nicole,
You may want to see a doctor of chiropractic for a exam. Often conservative Chiropractic care may greatly reduce low back pain and symptoms. If you are having increasing muscle weakness in the right leg, you will want to see a orthopedic surgeon to make sure the impingement on the nerve will not cause permanent damage. Longer the the nerve has pressure on it, the greater the chance for permanent damage. Ice several times per day, NO heat or hot baths.. this will only cause more swelling and pain!
