Question
Hello,
If a person who works all day at a computer and complains of neck and shoulder pain, what would you recommend to alleviate this pain and would there be any precautions or contraindications for massage?
Thank you!
Angie

Answer
Hello Angie,

They may find massage beneficial.  Long hours on the computer puts constant stress on the musculature that supports the head, thus causing chronic strain which can lead to upper back and neck pain.  Massage will help relax and loosen the muscles.  It may take a number of massages to resolve the pain depending on how long the condition has been present.

Have a great day,
