I have been having mid back pain and pain under my right breast just as the rib cage starts, are they related and could it be a pulled muscle in my back

It could possibly be a gall bladder problem.  If you come up with that conclusion, you may want to try a gall bladder flush which is a natural and conservative way with dealing with it.  I do not recommend any medication at this point.  Nevertheless, you should visit an upper cervical doctor of chiropractic in your area to assess the upper cervical spine to see if there may be pressure on the brainstem causing abnormal function in the body.  This way you can receive a correction and allow your body to heal itself, how wonderful!
