Chiropractors/pain in butt

Question
After a long cross-country car trip, I have a severe intermittent pain in my right buttock. It hurts to take a step, especially when changing level (like going up or down stairs.) It doesn't happen every time, but when it does the pain is unbearable. I've never seen a Chiropractor. Is my situation something that a Chiropractor could help? (56 year old female)

Answer
Pat,

Yes.  This is very typical of the kinds of musculoskeletal conditions we treat.  Like cavities are for dentists, back pain is for chiropractors.  You should be able to undergo a general chiropractic physical examination, and if there are no "red flags" preventing treatment, e.g. no neurologic diseases or signs of something bad going on, then you should be able to experience hands-on joint manipulation, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other things that chiropractors are very good at providing.  If you are lucky, you will experience some level of relief within a few visits.

Good luck!
