Chiropractors/soft tissue damage

Question
For What reasons would a chiropractor suggest an MRI? Would they have you come in for seven office visits consisting of Ultrasound therapy, manipulation by the Doctor and Hot Pack Therapy before the MRI? Or should they have had the MRI first, and was it even necessary?

Answer
Hello Leann,

If the therapy you are recieving is not improving the condition there may be a underlying cause. Just like any other doctor, a doctor of chiropractic may order an MRI to diagnosis the condition.  MRI's will show in detail the soft tissues ex. torn ligament, tendon, joint capsule, muscles etc.  Sounds like you are on the right track with a good doctor!

Let me know how it turns out!
