Choosing Alternative Therapies/fluoride

Question
Pat
I have a feeling the fluoride in my municipal water combined with my two cups of tea a day habit has caused several of my health problems. On a couple occasions when I was away for several weeks these problems improved. After researching I discoverd both these cities had non-fluoridated water. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Also, where can I get non fluoridated water? There is a culligan dealer here but they use the city water. Thanks!

Answer
Hello, bud,

I can't really answer your question because you didn't tell me enough about your symptoms and the like. However, if you get better when you are not drinking fluoridated water, then this is possible evidence of a connection.

I don't know where in Saskatchewan you can get non fluoridated water. However, you can buy bottled water if you are careful. Look for spring water. It should be taken from a natural spring and not have any fluoride in it. You should then do some research on the web; there are sites that rate bottled water. We have drunk bottled water for years for this reason, and the other pollutants in city water. And there's a good chance your symptoms are caused by some of these other pollutants as well. Get it in the clear plastic bottles, not the cloudy ones. Another possibility is to get a water filter that filters out fluoride as well. Again, you'll have to check the particular brand of filter and find out what it will do. They make filters you put on your tap. You can also get fluoride in your system from taking baths or showers in fluoridated water.

One possible piece of good news is that parts of Canada are dropping fluoridation. It may well be that the entire nation will drop it, and I hope so.

If you would like to go into more detail, I can probably tell you more. Let me know. Take care.

Experience

I have experience as a patient with a number of alternative therapies. I have researched many of them, and know which ones are more effective than others. I particularly focus on which therapies would be compatible with the Christian faith. Some modalities have a spiritual component, which is not compatible. I have also practiced herbalism with my family and friends for a number of years. I have experienced various kinds of physical manipulation for dislocated joints and other similar problems, and I have trained in the martial arts, which is relevant to some therapies. Martial arts are also therapeutic. I have also been writing a book on the uses of Sonoran Desert herbs, which already has 900 pages. It is a review of information in the literature, coupled with some of my personal experience. I have done the research for this book in eight languages. I also have done strength training and weightlifting. I am familiar with some technique and nutrition.

Education/Credentials
I studied the use of Sonoran Desert herbs with Peter "Bigfoot" Busnack. I studied midwifery with Norman Casserley, aka Mister Midwife. Three of my children were born at home. I have a second degree black belt in taekwondo and have also played judo and studied Kem Scrima Do.
