What are some good/decent paying jobs/careers that require only short termed training/schooling (2 years or less) and are in demand?

Where can I get quality info regarding this?

Answer
Jay,

You should take some kind of interest and aptitude inventory to get some sense of careers that fit for you. I can suggest some, but since I don't know you this is very incomplete advice. Such inventories are offered in guidance offices or college counseling centers. You might also find them online.

Careers:

auto mechanics (2 year degree sets you up well in this field)
Nursing (RN program, there is a critical shortgae of nurses right now)
Dental assistant/hygenist
Paralegal
Web design

In addition, many of the trades are increasingly in demand - carpentry, electrician, welding, etc.

To get an idea of what is out there in terms of two year career oriented programs, go to the web site for Alfred State College in NY. This school specializes in this sort of training, so you can pick up good general info from the site.
