Question
hello, my name is shane carman and even though i am still young (13)  i have begun looking at collage info.  i have an interest in screen writing and would love to be a screenwriter.  i know there a quite a few collage programs for screen writing but because of my circumstances it can be challenging to look.  i have some learning difficulties and i am foreign language exempt.  my grades are pretty good.( current averages for my classes are between 86-100).  i would like to know what schools offer programs on screen writing and what programs would be good for me.  i also live in western NY so i am far from "movie town LA"  i know there are a lot of programs but some are not considered good.  thank you for taking the time to help me,

Shane

Answer
You probably will be looking at schools that offer film majors.  Most colleges want you to be a broad understanding of the film industry before you get specifically into screen writing.  Some schools you might take a look at are:

University of Southern California
University of Miami
University of Texas
Universith of Tulsa
Chapman University
Loyola Marymount University
