Question
I really did bad in high school. I'm smart but i never put any effort into high school. When i graduated the light turned on in my head and i decided to attend a community college near me. i don't want to be there for 2 years. once i earn around 30 credits i want to apply to schools. is it possible to get in anywhere with a really poor hs school record ex gpa was a 2.0. didn't even take s.a.t

Answer
Bryan,

You would be considered a transfer student after attending community college. Most colleges will not care much, if at all, about your high school record after you have been in college. Rather, they will be most interested in how you did in your college courses to make sure you are capable of handling college level work.

Do well at your community college and you should have a good chance of being able to transfer to a 4 year college.

Good luck.
