Question
Hi, Im only just going into college and I still havent chose a college. Im either planning on going onto being an elementary educator, LD teacher, or school counselor. I really would love to go into school counseling but what would you suggest I major in? I know I would have to get a masters for school counseling. I totally know I want to do something inside a school. School counseling is on the top of the list, but I dont know what to major in. If i went to be a elementary educator that would be easy, because of the elementary education major.. What would you suggest? I need to find a school with a masters for school counseling.

Answer
If you are only going into college, you don't need to worry about a school that offers a master's program.  Find a school that you like that offers a major in counseling, education or psychology and then pursue the guidance counseling in a master's program.  You will probably want to do an internship in a high school while you are getting your master's degree.
