Question
HI
IAM STUDYING CHEMICAL ENGINEERING(Ist year). If I want to take a transfer to another university, can I choose electrical engineering. The first year course in all the engineering branches(be it chemical or electrical) is almost the same in my current university.

Answer
Most colleges accept transfers after the first two years, but fewer accept transfers after only one year.  There are many factors to considre when transfering.

1)  Why do you want to transfer?  What are the problems with your current school that you wish to avoid?
2)  What size college do you want?
3)  What geographic location do you want?
4)  Do you have special considerations such as athletics, clubs, dietary restrictions, religious affiliation, that would limit you to certain colleges?
5)  Do you need a college with on-campus housing?
6)  Cost and financial aid.
7)  Does the college need to be accredited?
8)  What college are you transferring from?
9)  Are you a US citizen or do you have permanent residence status?
10)  Have you taken the SAT-I, SAT-II math, and SAT-II science tests?
11)  What is your GPA?
12)  Are you seeking entry for September 2008, January 2009, or September 2009?
