Question
hi I need to know how many semesters there are in college and if I start in janruary when will the semester end? And if I start in janruary , will I have a summer vacation? will I be done by may?? thank you for taking your time to answer my questions
Miriam,
Different colleges and universities offer different options in the number of semesters that make up an academic year. Most colleges are on a "two semester" calendar, while a number of institutions offer "trimesters" or 3 semesters that fit into an academic year.
Each institution has it's own school calendar that typically ends around the beginning of May. I suggest you look into the schools you are seriously considering to determine their "start and end" dates.
You will most likely have the option to attend summer school, but the summer semester is not usually included in a traditional college year calendar. Your summer vacation will be your choice!
