ANSWER: Hi Keith,

Can you tell me a bit more about your interest? Do you want to work with animals directly, like in a zoo or as a vet - or are you interested in studying them academically?  Have you any particular inclinations yet, careerwise?

QUESTION: i want to work with them directly

Answer
I guess what I would suggest is to look for a school with a solid biology program (zoology if you can find it) that also offers specialized trainuing in zoo work, or some kind of internship opportunities.

For instance, Jefferson County College (Watertown, NY) actually has a 2 year program designed to prepare zoo workers.

If you have an area of the country in midn, go to the zoo Web sites there and see what info they offer under internships, and or call the zoo and speak to the human resource people there. They can be good sources of information

Best wishes,

Bruce
