Choosing the Right College/Pharm Major?

Question
Hello, I'm a student in the US, Virginia, specifically.  My career choice is to become a pharmacist.  I have applied to schools with either Chemistry as my major or Prepharmacy.  Do you think these majors are the right approach to take to become a pharmacist?  Please respond, thanks

Answer
I think there are a number of majors that will work for you if you want to become a pharmacist.
Chemistry, biology or any of the sciences will give you a good background.  However, many students major in whatever interests them the most and take all of the science courses they need in order to enter a pharmacy program.  Philosophy is the most sought after major for students who want to enter medical school.
