Question
I have narrowed down the following colleges. . . I have already applied to most but then I just wanted to know if I''m making the right choices
I'm not sure about my major but it will be either film and media or creative writing and literature
my sat scores are 580-CR, 690-MATH, 710-WRITING
Our school doesn't have a GPA system but a rough estimate of my GPA would be 2.9 - 3.1
Also I'm looking for colleges only in the east coast
Hunter College, NYC
Brooklyn College,NYC
Hofstra University
Temple University
Ithaca College
Syracuse University
Emerson University
Drexel University

Are the above colleges good in the fields I'm planning to go to? I s there any other college you think i should add ?
Please Help
Thank you so much

Answer
Devisri,

Your list of colleges contains a variety of schools.  Mostly they're located in cities and have a professional focus rather than a liberal arts focus.

When I put together a list of colleges for a student, I know much more about them than their GPA and test scores.  So, I'm reluctant to bless this as the "right list".  It does look like a good list.

By the way, Most kids in the US who have SAT scores like yours would have a higher GPA so I wonder if you're underestimating your GPA.  Do you have the requisite TOEFL score for admission?
