Choosing the Right College/Where do I start?

Question
I have no idea where to start in finding the right college for me. I want to become a social worker or a dental hygienist but I'm not sure on how to prepare for these. I'm only a sophomore in high school.

Answer
You're getting an early start on your college planning and college search and that gives you plenty of time to look at all of your options.  If you want to become a dental hygienist, you could be looking at a community college because that is one of the programs that is offered at most two year schools.  If you are leaning toward a degree in social work, you would be looking at a four year college or university.  Sometimes it is best not to focus too much on a major, but think more about where you would want to spend two or four years.  What about the size?  What about the cost?  This will help you to narrow things down a bit and be able focus on some schools that you can then find out more about.  Go to their websites and see what they look like and whether you want to consider them further.
