Choosing the Right College/Math Reccomendation

Question
I am applying for classes for my sophomore year in high school and don't know what math I should sign up for. I am in full IB classes and got an A in Algebra II. My options are IB Methods, IB Studies, and Pre-Calc. I want a career involving science and feel like I am strong in math but worry because I will have such a tough schedule. What is the difference in these courses and the rigor? What do colleges want to see?

Answer
I am not familiar with the IB program so I don't know what "Methods" or "Studies" includes.  I suggest you talk with the teachers and ask them.  Also talk with kids who are currently seniors who took the different classes to see what worked and what didn't work for them.

Most math-oriented kids will take Calculus as a senior (or sometimes as a junior) in high school.  That means they either take Precalc as a junior, or equivalent classes to Precalc.  I don't know if those IB classes provide the appropriate background for Calculus or not.
