Question
ok so i am a junior in high school and my gpa is at 1.8 and i am making a`s and b`s and i am asking this because  want to go to college but i dont know if i can. i want to know what i can do to prove to colleges that i can make it.

Answer
Ashley,

Thanks for writing. The best thing you can do is to get the best grades you can in the remaining time in high school. Colleges will be concerned about a low GPA but an upward trend will be some indication that you are getting ready for college.

Depending on how the next year goes, your best option may be to start at a community college for a year or two with plans to transfer after you prove your self at the community college. Community colleges are generally open admissions which means that they accept everyone who applies. They are often a very good choice for someone like you who struggled in the early years of high school but is on an upward trend.

There is an appropriate college out there for you. You just need to find your best choice.

Good luck.
