Thanks for your response. I recalled years ago at my college where a fellow
student told me that the "Ivy League" universities are a sport league of
schools that play football against each other. He told me to forget this "Ivy
League" thinking unless I want to play football. Basically, he said that "Ivy
League" is for sports, not academics and that most of the highly-selective
schools aren't in the Ivy League.
1. Is is true that Ivy League is for sports, not academics?
2. Also, what do you know about the University of California at Berkeley?
Best regards,
Julian
Answer Julian,
The Ivy League offers more athletic opportunities than any conference in the country. That being said, the admission standards at these institutions are probably the most select in the country and students (athletes included) are committing first and foremost to academic excellence.
Berkeley is a fine all-around institution... Amoung the best in the nation.
