AboutSusie Watts Expertise I have spent more than 20 years helping students select colleges and advising them in all areas of the college admission process
Experience College admissions can be a very confusing and overwhelming process for parents and the children. I serve as an objective third party to help families through this process.
I really need an expert's opinion to decide about my university choices and I was amazed when I discovered this website. What you all do is admirable!
First, let me introduce myself. I am Chiara from Albania. I am right now doing the International Baccalaureate course in the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales, where I am on scholarship. I just finished the first year, and I got 42 out of 42 in my end of year exams. I'm hoping for a 40+ out of 45 as predicted. My family's annual income is not more that $20000, so I will definitely need a full scholarship for my further studies. I am allowed to apply to only 5 universities in the US, so it is a pretty hard task for me to make up my mind. My school advisor mentioned Princeton and Wellesley, but I am open to any other proposals. I would be grateful for life if you could help me with this matter.
Thank you very much.
Looking forward to your answer,
Chiara
ANSWER: I think Princeton and Wellesley would be good choices. A few other schools you might consider would be: Smith, Tufts, George Washington University, American University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

QUESTION: I forgot to tell you that I'm more interested in the
Biological Sciences in general. Would these universities be
good for that? Would you recommend me any others?
Thanks a lot again,
Chiara
Answer Biology does make a difference. I would still stick with Princeton, Wellesley, Tufts and the University of Pennsylvania, but I would also add Pomona, Grinnell and Knox. There are a number of good state universities with good biology progams, but their financial aid and scholarships will not be very helpful.
