Question
QUESTION: Dear Johnson;

I would like to know if any US university  program exist for graduate or undergraduate admission that no need GMAT or GRE.
Also inform is General IELTS acceptable?
Thanks for your cooperation.

Best regards
Amir

ANSWER: Amir,

The GMAT is only required for some graduate business schools in the US. The GRE is only required for other graduate type programs. There are some graduate programs that don't require the GRE usually if you have high grades in the subject that you wish to get your graduate degree in.

For undergraduate admissions there are two tests, the SAT and the ACT. Either is acceptable for any undergraduate program. I don't believe either is offered in Iran so you would need to travel to another country to take the test.

There are some US undergraduate colleges that do not require the SAT or ACT test for admission. A list of these colleges can be found at www.fairtest.org/university/optional

Many but not all colleges will require some form of standard test such as the IELTS so confirm that you have English language skills strong enough to handle a college education. It depends on the college but I believe many will accept the general IELTS.

I hope that helps.

QUESTION: Dear Johnson:

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Please inform me how I can obtain list of subject that there is no need GRE.
Also please inform me if you can help me about scholarship.
How can I get scholarship?

Best regards
Amir

Answer
Amir,

Unfortunately there is no list that I am aware of of subjects that don't require a GRE. As I said, it tends to be for specific programs if you have a certain GPA. You should look at programs in which you might have an interest and then see if they require a GRE for admissions.

Scholarships are very limited for international undergraduate students although some of the most competitive colleges have them for a few international students. Here is a page from my website that discusses financial aid for international students. http://www.collegeadmissionspartners.com/international-students/financial-aid/

I don't have a resource for scholarships for graduate school but generally if you are in a science field you can get scholarships for teaching undergraduate students. Again you would need to check with each individual college to see what scholarships they offer graduate students.

There may also be scholarships available for non science graduate programs but typically there are not as many available as for science students.
