Choosing the Right College/colleges

Question
I'm a junior going into my senior year and I'm stuck on what university I want to attend. I don't know what I want to major in but I'm very interested in aviation and planning to get into AFROTC. I'm applying for the AFROTC scholarship. I'm also interested in being in a intramural sport like cross-country. How do you get into an intramural sport? I'm from California so I would like to attend a university here but I'm open to going out of state. I was wondering if you provide me with universities that have my interests. I researched colleges here in California but none have all my interests. thank you

Answer
Hi Jasmine,

If you are looking to see where you can do AFROTC, please check the link attached, which allows you to identify host AFROTC colleges as well as those that are crosstown schools and so run programs on the nearby host campus.

As far as avaiation is concerned, I don't believe you need to study that in school to be in AFROTC or to get your wings. The AF surely has programs that identify and train pilots, either while they are in ROTC or after, fulfilling their service obligation. The AFROTC person could tell you what academic areas are in demand in the USAF.

Intrameural sports generally are open participation and do not require tryouts. Perhaps at some real big schools it would. I've not heard of intramural XC, though. Maybe what would work better is a school that operates an NCAA Division III XC program.

Hope this helps.
