Question
I am a sophomore in high school, and its time to think about my future! I would like to become an ophthalmologist, but I can't seem to find much information. To pursue this career, what majors can I choose from? Also, are there any particular schools that I should be considering?

Answer
When you are considering an undergraduate degree which is your first four years of college, you should look for schools that are a good fit for you.  It is not important what you major in, but it should be something you really enjoy.  If you are interested in being an ophthalmologist, you will need to go on the medical school.  Medical schools like students with many different majors.
You will also want to make sure that you are taking as many sciences courses, especially in biology and chemistry, that you can.  Undergraduate degrees are to give you a good general education before you go on and specialize in a particular area of medicine.
