Choosing the Right College/Choosing a College

Question
I have narrowed my search for a college. It is now between two possible schools. Texas State University- San Marcos or McClennan Community College in Waco. I can't decide whether or not I should go to a community college first or a university. I have researched the schools and already found living arrangements for both schools. The only problem is I need help deciding. I am in the top percentages of my class but I do not know if I am able to take on a college without extra help in classes. I just do not know which one to go to. PLEASE HELP!

Answer
Courtni,

The good news is that either choice can be a good one for you. Don't worry about making a mistake. Rather, focus on what you want from a college. The four year college can be easier because you don't need to make a decision in two years where you want to transfer to like you will need to do with the community college. If you are concerned about handling the coursework, contact each college and ask them what resources they have to help students academically. Be honest with them about your concerns. Consider which college can provide the most help if you need it.

I hope that helps you make a decision.
