Question
Ok, so im going into my final year of school in September and will be attending College the year after. But, im stuck on the process of how to get through it. Im a student from Northern Ireland, and the University prices over here have increased dramatically so im considering options elsewhere.
Can i have a basic outline of the process for admissions, universities that are able to provide funding and how i can apply for these?

Thanks, Jordan.

Answer
Jordan,

I have been following the price increases in the UK and Ireland and understand your concerns. That being said, my guess is that it will still be more expensive to go to college in the US. There is limited aid for international students and there are only a handful of colleges in the US that meet the full financial need for international students.

For the basics of admissions to US colleges here is a link to a page on my website that discusses this issue. http://www.collegeadmissionspartners.com/international-students/

What I would suggest is that you keep your options open. After you understand financial aid for international students, then find some US colleges that would be a good fit for you and that may give you money to attend. But also consider some UK and Irish schools as well.
