Choosing the Right College/Please Guide An Aspiring Environmental Journalist

Question
I'm very confused about my future right now. I know that I want to write and help animals at the same time, so I'm considering making a career out of environmental journalism. To do so, what should I choose as my college major? English? Journalism? Biology? Conservation? Environmental Science? I am against dissection and animal experimentation, so I need to select a major that will allow me to opt out of all that. Also, where is the best place for me to study? I'm Indian, but I'd like to work abroad (preferably in the United States, but any developed nation would work) so in which country should I study for the greatest job prospects?

Answer
I would suggest you major in journalism with a minor in environmental science.  I think that combination would offer you the most flexibility if you want to be involved in a career in environmental journalism.  Some schools you might want to consider in the United States would be the University of California-Berkeley, University of Wisconsin, New York University, or the University of Illinois.
