Question
I would love to get into a school like Brown, Rice, and University of
Pennsylvania. I got a 1990 on my SAT and I am in
the top 14% out of 1,055 students.  I speak 5 languages and played violin for 8 years.  I'm involved in numerous activities. I am wondering if I have a good
chance to get in?

Answer
Laila,

Sorry for the delay, I thought I'd answered this already, but I must have failed to send it.

What is your score on the non-writing parts of the test?

You certainly have a lot going for you. Keep in mind, though, that admission to those top schools is extremely competitive. You can probably check out the school Web sites to see what a typical class profile looks like.

I'd suggest that you take the SATs a second time, and maybe the ACT also, and expand your list a bit to some other really good schools, like Stanford, Northwestern, Miami of Ohio, Univ of Chicago, Duke, Virginia, Univ of Rochester.

Do you attend high school here in the US? 1055 is a really large graduating class!

Hope ythis is helpful.
