QuestionHello, my name is nicole. I am a junior in search of a list of colleges with strong dance programs. Academics is extremely important to me....so far I still have no idea what I would like to major in. I was thinking journalism, but first I would like to audition for a dance program. I would like to stay away from school that supply only modern dance. A mix of ballet, pointe, jazz and modern would better suit me.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would like to start narrowing down schools in order to visit and audition this summer.
thank you,
nicole
AnswerI would suggest that you do an internet search for colleges with good dance programs. Then you can follow up with each school and make sure that the program includes the kind of dance that interests you. But it is also important to make sure they offer a strong program in other areas that may appeal to you as far as a major goes
and their overall academic reputation. Since you are only a junior, you have plenty of time to find out this information and choose a good list of schools that offer you just what you're looking for. Request information from the particular schools so you can make some comparisons.
