Choosing the Right College/Psychology degree

Question
Dear Mr. Lanier,

Is a degree in psychology a 4 year degree?

How do I go about finding which colleges offer a degree in psychology?

Also, am I correct in assuming that since they are not M.D.s that they are not referred to as Doctor?

Thanks for your time,
Michele

Many colleges offer a Bachelors degree in psychology. It would be rather easy to find a college that offers it. Psychologists usually go to some type of graduate school in psychology for another four years if you want to get a doctorate, but that is a PhD; however, you are still referred to as doctor. Psychiatrists generally do go to medical school and obtain an MD. For researching schools, visit www.review.com. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any more questions.
