My son will graduate from high school this year and we need to look at colleges that offer him structure and dicipline and yet allow him to experience "college life".  We would like for him to stay in the south: GA, TN, KY. Are there colleges that specifically cater to the ADHD/LD student?  If so, are they rated according to "the best"?  We would consider sending him further from home if we knew that the particular college was specifically designed to educate ADHD students. THanks for your help.

   If you are looking for a college setting that is designed specifically to serve students with ADHD/LD, there are two well-known programs on the east coast.  One, in Vermont, is Landmark College.  The other, in Florida, is Beacon College.  One is not really better than the other...it depends on what your son needs as the schools are very different in terms of philosophy as well as the level and type of structure.  I'm sure that both schools would be happy to send you information and videos.  That way, you can make a better judgement regarding the best environment for your son.  I hope this helps.
