Question
My son is a junior in H.S. He will be taking APCalculus this year. He does very well and it comes easily to him. Can you tell me what the best field he should look into with math. Teaching, science, accounting and engineering are not things he wants to pursue. He wants to stay totally focused on math, and of course a very high salary. Also, do you know which college in Indiana offers the best math courses and education in the math field.  He is also very talented in music. (percussion) Thank you for any help.

Answer
There is nothing wrong with majoring in math and not concerning yourself with what you might do with it.  Employers in many fields are interested in math majors.  I think you should consider the schools in Indiana that appeal to him based more on size and personality.  A smaller school would probably give him a better opportunity to participate in music also.  Then check out the math programs at those schools and the options they have to offer.
