Question
Hello,
I'm currently attending Iona College in New Rochelle NY, and my first semester in college i completed 15 credits with a 3.6 GPA. In high school i did not do well, i had a 2.02 and a combined SATS of 1030 (m:560 v:470). My questions is how are my chance applying to a selective colleges (ex. temple, loyola university new orleans, rutgers university i'm also a nj resident, and northeastern)? I also have been working for a major firm the this past year, and i am currently in two clubs at my school. I also have prepared a great essay for each school. So, what do you hink my chances are? Thank You and have a great year

Answer
Mark,
It sounds as though you've made a good adjustment to college.  Other colleges are going to look at your grades and the courses you've taken.  Also, it is good that you're involved in a lot of different activities, for that will look good as well.  I cannot tell you how strong your chances are because each school is different with transfer students.  I would suggest completing a full year so they can see more than just one semester.  That's all I can really say.  I hope this information helps, and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.  Good luck.
