why is this not in humans now,yet it is in animals

Answer
According to the Bible, human beings once lived in harmony with God and nature and we have fallen from God's grace because of our sins.  We can be restored to being under God's grace simply by asking Jesus to forgive us.  God is no respecter of persons and thus, there is no other way to know God, other than through forgiveness.  If you think about how great God is, then it makes sense that none of us can deserve God or earn our way into his grace, regardless of how good, intelligent, strong or wise we may imagine ourselves to be.

For now, human beings have a "shell awareness" of love as dictated by our own conscience and, if we ask Jesus to forgive us, we can then have a growing awareness of the grace, mercy, love and peace of God.  Like Jesus said, if we ask we will receive, if we seek we will find and if we knock, the door will be opened unto us.  

I have found this to be true for myself; although none of us understand God or understand love very well, we can all have a growing awareness of God in our lives by following Jesus.  Faith involves action, thus it is not enough to say "I believe" but rather, we must work out our own salvation, checking out what forgiveness means and how it applies in the reality of our daily lives; "for by grace we are saved".

Nobody fully understands love, but through forgiveness, we can come to understand love better and better, for by grace we are saved from our sins and, it is both our own sins and the sins of other people, that cloud our view of God, who is love.
