Ok, This one might be hard, I remember being pretty young and watching a VHS of this movie, I can't remember the name, I just have pictures in my head of the movie. I think I remember a boy or a group of kids (not sure which it was) going on some sort of journey. I remember him being at his home I believe with his mom (maybe single mom) then He goes to this place that seems mystical. There is some sort of Giant creature, some jewel things?! I remember them being colorful. I'm pretty sure the creature is friendly and helps him. I would appreciate any help with this. I have no idea what year. It would have been in the 90's when i watched it.

We are not sure but thinking of one of two possibilities.  The Selfish Giant (2 versions - 1 VHS and 1 DVD made later)  The VHS was a better version in our opinion.
