Question
Can you recommend any Christian song or artist that is similar to Luther Vandross or Kenny G. I am looking for the music style, the calm rhythm, the smooth instruments.

Answer
For Luther Vandross, the closet in vocal style is Darwin Hobbs.  He even did a cover version of Luther's classic, "So Amazing".  There's also the first two projects by BeBe Winans "BeBe Winans" which features some behind the scenes work by Luther Vandross and "Love & Freedom".  BeBe doesn't sound like Luther, but his early projects featured smooth R&B styled vocals and Quiet Storm kind of musical flavoring.  And don't forget the BeBe & CeCe project "Different Lifestyles" which includes a wonderful ballad called "Searching For Love" featuring Luther on background vocals.

As for Kenny G ... There are a lot of wonderful Christian Jazz cds.  But off the top of my head, try Earnest Pugh, Allen & Allen and Bajada Minstrels.  All can be found on Amazon.com.
