I am looking for this song, it's a song that I know well but I can't find any album by *anyone* with this song on it!!!  I'm hoping you might know of it.

It's called "In the Shadow of Your Wings" and it's apparently copyright 1984, Maranatha! Music, Words and Music by Cathy Spurr & Debbie McNeil ...

Oh boy this was a challenge..LOL First I made an assumption based on the info you gave me. Typically Maranatha! Music has their group "The Maranatha Singers" perfom just about every song one of their composers write. In your case, I checked the Praise series (I own Praise 4 and it has some really great songs on it, "In his time" and "I want to praise you lord" are my favorites).

Sadly, after looking at every record after Praise 6 (produced in 1985). I came to a dead end so
I googled the title of the song and discovered a song by Casting Crowns

and a song written by Fernando Ortega and performed by many others (this is one of my biggest beefs with worship albums. Seriously, how many versions of "Awesome God" and "I can only imagine" do we really need?)

BTW avoid "Cornerstone" on this record..it's not perfomed by Leon Patillo. Based on this tibit it is safe to assume your song is not sung by the actual artists either. Remember you did say "Anyone"..lol.
